I have been primarily teaching elementary education for 16 years. 5 of those years are with special education mixed in! This year, I am teaching in a small, private school in Virginia. I only have 4 students in second grade, and I am also the special education coordinator.
I always prided myself in being a good teacher. This fall as I was searching the web for teaching helps, I came across a YouTube video titled "Whole Brain Teaching". I watched it, and a whole new world was introduced to me. It went from one video to a weekend of watching every video that I could get my hands on and scouring the whole brain teaching website. I decided that next Monday to see if what I was watching on YouTube would really work. What happened in my classroom sent me straight to "Teacher Heaven". The focus, energy level, and determination of my students had made a 180 degree change.
